As an internationally recognized author, journalist, Global Peace Ambassador, and founder of Humanity Magazine Global, she continues to unite people across cultures through the universal values of peace, respect, and understanding.
In this exclusive interview with Dimitrios Kannavos for the Hellenic Los Angeles Media Network and Hellenic Media Group, María Elena Ramírez shares her vision of a more peaceful world, the inspiration behind her global initiatives, and the vital role that media, culture, and education play in building bridges between nations. Her words remind us that lasting peace begins with humanity, dialogue, and the courage to inspire positive change.
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : María Elena Ramírez, your work connects journalism, literature, and the defense of peace. How did this mission arise in your life and career?
María Elena Ramírez : The constant pursuit of peace, from writing poems, philosophical phrases, and articles, raising my voice for ceasefires and human rights, promoting and educating in universal values from an early age to build a global culture of peace. This mission fromGod that I carry in my hands has been constant and unstoppable. It has existed since I was oldenoughto understand; wars have always been present, and eradicating them in all their formsispart of the legacy that history leaves behind. It is a way of caring for humanity metaphorically, aliving hope. Peace is possible
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS :As the author of “The Song of the World,” the World Peace Anthem 2025, what messagedidyou want to convey to humanity through this work?
María Elena Ramírez : The World Peace Anthem, THE SONG OF THE WORLD 2025, was created to raise awarenessamong those who create evil, those who create wars. It is a song to the world that reflectslove and hope: “Echoes of kindness rain down, echoes of love rain down, it is the songof theworld, the voice of the world crying out for peace and love.” A song that conveys empathyand compassion, the freedom of peoples and the winds of change, the child and the searchfor happiness.
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS :Your words have already transcended borders and languages. What does it mean toyoutosee your message of peace translated and shared internationally?
María Elena Ramírez : It’s a fragrant balm. My words travel at the speed of sound around the world, resonatingpowerfully. It’s a breath of hope. As an International and Global Ambassador of Peace, aCultural Ambassador, my path travels proclaiming peace and awareness. I seek an awakened humanity with Peace Missionaries who multiply the message, creating echoesthat resonate powerfully. Languages blossom in every latent letter. My torch remains lit
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS :As founder, CEO, and editor of Humanity Magazine Global, what vision inspired you tocreatethis international platform?
María Elena Ramírez : What truly inspired me to create Humanity Magazine Global arose fromGod’s missionwithinme and His divine essence. One night, asleep, I heard a voice whispering in my ear: HUMANITY. I listened to the songs of Thomas Bergersen, a Norwegian singer. It was asymbiosis between the music, the voice that resonated with me, and the mission Godgaveme: “To save the world.” It sounds metaphorical, but it’s a declaration rooted in the mysticism and spirituality I’ve had since childhood. The desire to change the world, toraiseawareness in humanity about wars and evil, to create the World Peace Letters and personalized covers is a fraternity in three nations where illustrious figures fromthe arts, literature, and culture promote messages of peace. These messages are then publishedinthe international and global newspaper, Humanity Diary Global, and international certificatesof recognition are awarded in gratitude for the benefit and contribution to humanity. TheWorld Peace Letters Award, 2025 and 2026 editions, is the Diamond Torch Award. Transcending borders, reaching all five continents, it fills minds, souls, and hearts withpeace, sowing values and seeds of peace throughout the world
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : In a world often marked by division, conflict, and misunderstanding, how can literatureandthe media become true instruments of peace?
María Elena Ramírez : Literature, the power of words, can change the world. They are doves that fly as symbolsof peace. Instruments of peace, necessary tools, they are weapons that will end war in all itsforms. I leave a powerful message for all writers, poets, and artists: we must write thelegacy of this present, which will sow fruits for the future of new generations. We must worktirelessly, even if necessary, until we achieve the peace we so deeply desire. In a worldof misinformation and selfishness, we must continue climbing the mountain without stopping, ensuring that each stone is not an obstacle but an impetus to keep going. Chaos is anabyss; the solution is the struggle in a battle that can be declared a victory based onuniversal values. We must keep each value in mind and be an example of it in our actions.
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : You have spoken of uniting people and nations through universal values. What role doescultural dialogue play in building this kind of global unity?
María Elena Ramírez : Cultural exchange and cultural diversity play an important role in building peace throughdialogue. These same messages of peace and universal values—such as empathy, humility, and respect—are necessary to unite nations for justice, love, and freedomamong peoples. They must be at the forefront of our consciousness and minds. Dialogue through cultural diplomacy, where the flags of all nations are linked, is essential. Peace must be a continuous chain where war is the only lock; unity is strength. We must set aside selfishness and envy, accept the differences of others, and cultivate empathy and respect.
We areall children of the same earth; we are neither more nor less than one another. We must keepthese things in mind so that our humanity prevails over our physical and material needs. Wemust put God first each day and be grateful for another day of life. Educating for peacefroman early age, fostering a sense of belonging, and embracing culture as our identity—eachand every one of these are essential qualities. A pacifist lacking these qualities is not worthyof being a peace promoter. Integrity unites people; humanity must embrace peace andlovefrom its very soul and heart. Then, through dialogue, the world will change, groundedinuniversal values—a fundamental imperative. The Culture of Peace is a broad horizonwherewe walk with ethics and humility, from a kind heart, expecting nothing in return. Altruismisessential to begin this journey. Dialogue must be a constant practice for unity amongall peoples
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : From your experience, what are the biggest challenges faced by those who genuinely workfor peace in today’s world?
María Elena Ramírez : The biggest challenge faced by those who genuinely work for peace is that they tirelesslywork tirelessly but are not valued, but rather humiliated by powerful people who ignorepeace efforts. People with advanced degrees who believe themselves superior to everyoneelse. This happens in life, it happens in nations; each and every one of those who workfor peace must be respected. Prestige and fame are irrelevant here; those who work for peacewith their whole heart are the ones who will save the world.
There are many challenges, suchas trying to deliver humanitarian aid to nations at war, but being blocked by powerful forcesthat silence the voices of many Messengers of Peace with a genuine mission. It’s not just about being visible; there is a root cause of war that must be uprooted so that peace canflourish. PEACE IS NOT A COMPETITION. It is total unity without malice. But we live constantly surrounded by these challenges that nourish life and fill us with experiencesand, above all, the strength to continue tearing down walls, crossing borders with our voices, breaking down obstacles, and seeking truth. Justice for human rights and freedomof expression are bridges that must never be closed. Raise your voice; humanity must awaken. It is now. The future is today
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : As a journalist and writer, how do you balance truth, sensitivity, and hope when addressingdifficult global realities?
María Elena Ramírez : It’s impressive how passionate one feels when speaking of peace, when dreaming of anddeclaring global, world, and universal peace. For me, wars aren’t just about weapons; wehave internal, mental, and emotional wars, and it’s from this mental war, fueled by a hunger for power, that acts of evil are born. We can’t comprehend these kinds of acts that shockusevery day. As a journalist, I search for the truth through investigations, delving deeper, andthere are things that defy explanation. The harmony of my soul declares peace in a worldinchaos.
There is a light that guides us. Those of us born with this gift fromGod, with themission placed upon our path, never rest, driven by that same beautiful feeling of wantingtotransform humanity for the common good, for the social well-being of all. We strive tobebridges, to channel peace through different means and paths, letting it flowlike river water and reach its destination in a cycle of life where the winds of change are near, felt andpalpable through our conviction. Hope must not be extinguished. I use the phrase “MYTORCH REMAINS LIT” because there are times when we falter, yet we do not fall, for weremain steadfast in the face of evil. It is a continuous balance, a peace that dwells withinand is shared with others. Peace is possible; love, kindness, and humility are fundamental pillars that should always accompany us, naturally.
DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : What does your role as Cultural Media Ambassador for the Hellenic Media Network of LosAngeles mean to you, both personally and internationally?
María Elena Ramírez : A new path for culture and peace.”
I accept this international distinction with the commitment to continue building bridgesthrough what defines us as human beings: our culture. I take on this challenge with twoclear goals: - To honor our roots: To protect and disseminate the cultural heritage that gives us identity. - To promote the movement, giving voice to new talents and expressions that are transforming our culture today: Peace, Education, Art, Literature, “Legacy,” Universal andHumanistic Culture.
I am walking this path alongside “World Peace Letters” fromHumanityMagazine Global, an initiative that already spans five continents, uniting nations and“VOICES” under the universal values of Peace Education FROM AN EARLY AGE to build, together, a better world by eradicating war in all its forms.
On a personal level, I receive this distinction with great humility and commitment, upholdinguniversal values as the air I breathe. It is a step forward where I continue to innovate andcreate, guided by the mission entrusted to me at Humanity Magazine Global, the WorldPeace Letters, the international and global newspaper Humanity Diary Global, the motivational magazine Eskhalera Magazine, and a new cultural facet: Legacy in Motion. Asajournalist, I am also the Deputy Director of Radio Del Sur MX and host of the sociocultural radio magazine La Escalera De La Vida (The Ladder of Life). My spirit continues to touch hearts by sowing seeds of peace and universal values. Peacebegins with kindness from the soul, without being forced. Growth comes fromwithin, andwith that same strength, it must be transmitted.
María Elena Ramírez : DIMITRIOS KANNAVOS : What message would you like to share today with artists, writers, journalists, and youngpeople around the world who aspire to be voices for peace?
My message to the world—to writers, journalists, artists, young people, and the communityin general who wish to be voices for peace—is to embrace this commitment as a vocation, to keep universal values present day after day in order to build a culture of peace for asustainable world in harmony. Meditate, reflect constantly, and try to master your ego. Thesimplicity of a person who works for peace should reveal the essence they transmit: beinnovative, create, be authentic, teach others, and at the same time learn fromeverythingaround you. If the path is narrow, don’t look for the wide one; walk the narrowone. Youmust feel the difficulty, the process.
Sometimes the difficult arrival is the right one, becauseyouwill have traveled the path with the honor of not arriving by the easy way. It is a gestureof personal and, at the same time, human growth. Universal values must fit into our mind, soul, and heart; the culture of peace must be our beacon that guides us to that longed-for peacethat does not remain a utopia. Do not let them tell you that you cannot, because that iswhenyou must most adjust your shoes
