Dimitrios Kannavos Joins the Jury of the 21st Cyprus International Film Festival

Dimitrios Kannavos has been selected to serve as a Jury Member in the Short Films category at the 21st Cyprus International Film Festival (CYIFF), taking place in Nicosia, Cyprus, from September 21–26, 2026.

His participation in the international jury reflects the growing importance of short films as a powerful form of cinematic expression, providing emerging filmmakers with an opportunity to share their stories, ideas and artistic vision with an international audience.

The Cyprus International Film Festival, known for its Golden Aphrodite Awards, has established itself as an important independent film event, supporting emerging directors and presenting films from Cyprus and around the world. The festival places particular emphasis on international exchange, artistic dialogue and the promotion of new cinematic voices.

As a member of the Short Films Jury, Dimitrios Kannavos will contribute to the evaluation of works by filmmakers participating in this year’s competition, joining an international community of cinema professionals and artists.

His participation represents another significant step in his involvement with international cinema and cultural journalism, while also strengthening the connection between Greek media, culture and the international film community.
