Paris is preparing to welcome filmmakers and documentary creators from across the world as Ethnografilm Paris announces its 2027 edition, taking place from March 25 to March 28, 2027.
Submissions for the 2027 festival are now open, offering filmmakers an opportunity to present their work to an international audience and become part of a festival dedicated to non-fiction cinema, people, cultures and contemporary society.
A Festival Looking at the World We Live In
Despite its name, Ethnografilm is not limited to traditional or strictly ethnographic filmmaking. The festival embraces a broad range of non-fiction cinema, exploring contemporary life, human experiences, culture and society.
Its international character creates a space where filmmakers can present stories that examine the world from different perspectives, bringing together people, communities and ideas through the language of documentary film.
Four Main Competition Categories
Academic Short
Non-fiction films with a running time of up to 20 minutes.
Documentary Short
Documentary films with a running time of up to 20 minutes.
Academic Feature
Non-fiction films with a running time of more than 20 minutes.
Documentary Feature
Documentary films with a running time of more than 20 minutes.

The Regular Deadline is September 30, 2026. Late and Extended submission periods will follow.
