Olivia Vassilopoulos Crowned Miss Universe Greece 2026
The 24-year-old Greek-Australian was crowned following the national final held in Athens on September 25, 2026, under the auspices of GS Hellas. Her victory marks the beginning of a new international chapter for a young woman whose personal story connects Greece with the Greek diaspora and several different cultures around the world.
A Greek Story Across Continents
Born in Sydney, Australia, Olivia Vassilopoulos grew up in Hong Kong and later continued her education in Australia and Greece. Her family maintains strong Greek roots, with connections to Mytilene, Argos and Patras.
Her international upbringing has given her the opportunity to experience different cultures while maintaining a strong connection with her Greek heritage. Her journey reflects the experience of a new generation of Greeks whose lives and careers extend across borders while remaining closely connected to their roots.
Education, International Experience and Modelling
Vassilopoulos studied Political Science at the University of Melbourne after attending schools in Hong Kong and Athens. Alongside her academic background, she has developed an international career in modelling, with experience across Asian and European markets.
Her professional journey has also included a 12-month internship with former Australian Labor Party leader Bill Shorten, an experience that broadened her understanding of public policy and international affairs.
Beyond fashion and modelling, Vassilopoulos has expressed an interest in environmental sustainability and in promoting a more responsible relationship between fashion, society and the environment.
Representing Greece on the World Stage
With the Miss Universe Greece 2026 title now secured, Olivia Vassilopoulos will turn her attention to the international Miss Universe competition in Puerto Rico in November.
Her participation will place Greece once again in the spotlight of one of the world's most internationally recognised beauty and cultural events, while also bringing a strong diaspora dimension to the Greek representation.
For the Greek community abroad, Vassilopoulos's story carries an additional significance. Born outside Greece but deeply connected to her family's homeland, she represents a generation of Greek diaspora members who move naturally between countries, cultures and professional worlds.
“I don’t like putting limits on myself.”
That international outlook will now accompany her to Puerto Rico, where she will carry the Greek flag and present her own story, heritage and perspective on the global Miss Universe stage.
From the Hellenic Diaspora to the Global Stage
The story of Olivia Vassilopoulos is more than a pageant journey. It is also a story of identity, education, international experience and connection with the Hellenic diaspora.
As she prepares for Miss Universe 2026, Greece and Greek communities around the world will be following her journey in Puerto Rico.
